Hi developers,

I have worked out a way to get references inlined into exported .tex
documents, based on suggestions from Richard Heck. It would be nice to build
this feature into LyX and I am interested in contributing this change. Please
help me with a few questions:

1. Is this change acceptable?

2. This feature requires the IncludeBib.py script submitted by another
user/developer in the issue-log on trac: http://www.lyx.org/trac/ticket/4624
Can the IncludeBib.py script be bundled with the lyx distribution now? I
didn't see the author permitting the use of this script under GPL (maybe I
missed it) but if this is the case, I could write a script and submit that
under GPL. Are there any other adoption problems?

3. What files will have I have to modify to get the menu item to show in the
File->Export submenu? I plan to give this feature the name "LaTeX
(plain/bibinc)", the latter being short for "bibliography included" (also
appears in the IncludeBib.py script).

4. I can update the documentation in the user's guide and Additional Features
manuals. How do I send this patch? Just send the result of "svn diff" on
these .lyx files?

5. Will send the output from "svn diff" at the root of source tree efficiently
capture changes to files at all these diverse locations in a safe and
efficient way or need I send a tarball of patches for individual files?

6. Is there something else that needs to be done that I might have missed in
the above TODO list?

Note: inlined refs are required by quite a few journals, esp. those that
impose page limits. I think this is because they run latex on the submissions
at the time of submission.

Thanks,
Manoj
