Warning: language `default' not recognized!

Hi,

I've compiled recent 1.1.6cvs and executed lyx 'as is'.

Why is the language by default set to 'default' and
then not recognized resulting in a warning?

Using 'setenv LANG C' or so, doesn't make a difference.
