it will set it. the problem is the time in between. when i choose string eg
VC_COMMAND (to be found in lfuns manual) then first four manuals are loaded
then i get 30s lyx freeze and after it next manuals (math,custom,lfuns) are
read. i cant see this delay when opening single manuals manually. are you able
to reproduce? i tried to switch instantpreview off but it doesn't seem to
affect it.
side question: what is "instant preview" ? what does it imply ? how to
turn it off ?
On my laptop (P9600 @ 2.66GHz), VC_COMMAND is found in 23 seconds, some
manuals are loaded and searched faster, others take a while. Loading the
manuals manually () I can see it takes 2--4 seconds to load each, but
you have to consider the searching time as well.
however, how would I set the hourglass cursor ?
now when i think about it setting hourglass cursor won't be of much help since
loadDocument will destroy it.
I noticed it comes and goes during each load -- perhaps if I set the
hourglass also during search, it doesn't look so bad --
in fact I just tried and looks like ok -- committed as r32958.
