I use mutt 1.2i and it is very easy to distinguish between all that:
l -> reply to list (mutt knows, or I told him so, that this a mailling list)
this eliminates all other addresses except for the mailling list
g -> group reply, this replies to all
r -> reply to sender
Easy as you see, OTHO this discussion is almost irrelevant as you would
expect in a friday, good to know that tradition is what used to be...
