I've been trying to track this one (stepping through it crashed DDD!), and
got to a dead-end, I'm really baffled by the LyX core. The problem seems
to lie in the interaction between the space elimination stage and the
selection drawing stage, though I couldn't trace the code to find the
space elimination method.
Can anyone point me to the relevant methods?
