Currently I'm equipped for compiling LyX only under cygwin and win32. A brief Google search indicates that valgrind doesn't work on these platforms. :( My linux server is running an ancient version of ubuntu (6.06). Due to old versions of automake, the latest LyX it compiles is 1.6.2. I need to upgrade, but I dread reconfiguring all my services. -Ben
