Sorry ... ignore that. Trying to clean-up, I realized that I hadn't properly reverted the nofork2 patch. Restoring everything to 1.6.x-svn and applying nofork3, spellchecking works fine. I can't test on snow leopard, though, to see if it fixes problems there. BH
