OK so it is a bug in TeXLive 2007. TeXLive 2008 and MiKTeX 2.7 and 2.8
don't show the problem. Therefore I opt not to hardcode a solution for
a bug of a special LaTeX distribution that is already fixed.
OK, but this LaTeX bug affects 37.5% of the installations, from the
statistics on the Users' list...
I know, but when a LaTeX package was buggy we never hardcoded workarounds in LyX because this could
later cause problems when further versions of this package are released. Note that a buggy
LaTeX-packages always affects about 33% of the users because many users are using the same
LaTeX-distribution (currently the most used distributions are TeXLive 2007, 2008 and MiKTeX). Note
also that since with TeXLive 2008, LaTeX packages can easily be updated to solve such compile
problems without the need to change/touch the distribution itself. (MiKTeX provides this features
since many years.)
But could you do me the favor and add below the title of the French useUGuide a hint that people
should upgrade their TeXLive version to at least version 2008 or alternatively deactivate hyperref
when they cannot compile the UserGuide?
Deactivating hyperref in the UserGuide solves the issue,
but more generally to solve this kind of problem on a particular
document, LyX misses a way to insert part of the preamble *before* what
is automatically added from the analysis of the required packages.
This is a known limitation we are aware of. This feature is on our todo list.
