The old description (which I found now on the server in bugzilla/) says:

'compat','Correct import of previous versions of LyX documents'

FWIW here's the (obviously not up to date) list I found:

* 'XFORMSBUG','This is a bug in xforms. Not in LyX'

* 'crash','The bug can cause a crash / infinite loop / hang'

* 'patch','Patch attached'

* 'cosmetic','On-screen drawing is wrong or ugly'

* 'ui','User interface bugs.'

* 'testcase','A LyX / .tex / other testcase has been attached to the bug'

* 'release_notes','Use this keyword if the bug has to be mentioned in the
release notes.'

* 'helpwanted','Someone help out on this bug, user or developer !'

* 'leak','(Suspected) memory leak.'

* 'dataloss','Loss of user data: preference items, document contents, etc.'

* 'compat','Correct import of previous versions of LyX documents'

* 'fixedintrunk','Fixed in development CVS trunk.'

Not sure. I think it's obsoleted by the lyx2lyx component.
