1. new file 2. go to thetools -> preferences and change something 3. press save button 4. new 'white box' appears in the bottom part of the screen/window see the attachment. this is not just some painting residual - it is stable and disappears only when i close lyx window. i'm not sure however that this _new_ regression - it may have something to do with my switch to qt 4.5.1.
