I had not only used LyX, but had upgraded the university's LaTeX *.sty
files to a bona-fide LaTeX2e class. One of the most satisfying
moments in the completion of my thesis was submitting it to the
university graduate school secretaries. They simply took the thesis,
saying, "We know we don't need to check *your* fonts or margins." All
they had to do was make sure the pages were in proper order.
