In my opinion, there are only a few bugs left that should really be fixed for
1.6.1.
For what it's worth, I've seen some crashes recently myself but have
been unable to reproduce them. These have all happened when working on a
book with lots of child documents that all have the Default Master
Document set. I'm hopeful that your recent fix for the "dirty" issue
will solve that problem, too.
Unfortunately, none of these bugs are ones I know anything about (mathed
frightens me ;-), and I'm on Linux, so the OSX and Windows bugs are out
for me.

The most urgent ones are these:
5389 cri LyX crashes when reloading document on OS X
5540 cri Crash in MathAtom on Undo
As to the other confirmed critical bugs:
5392 cri Assertion in InsetMathGrid
=> I'm not completely sure about the current state.
5046 cri shift select makes lyx assert when cursor follow scrollba...
=> This is currently not reproducible due to bug 4464.
5068 cri Assertion when clicking on the title of the document
=> Help from some CoordCache expert needed
4346 cri Synchronizing insets asserts when two windows open
=> Cannot reproduce this any longer
Furthermore, I find this one very annoying:
4464 maj Missing autoscroll when selecting by mouse drag
And windows users might be annoyed by this:
5238 nor LyX 1.6 fails with non-ascii chars in path (on Windows)
A propos: there are still six unconfirmed critical bugs on bugzilla, all
Windows-related. Maybe some Windows user can investigate (especially the crash
while moving the toolbar (#5499) has bitten several users).
Personally, I do not have ideas on these bugs. As usual, any effort to further
debug or even fix these issues is most welcome.
Since we have already fixed a range of major and critical issues, I propose to
release LyX 1.6.1 in about one week notwithstanding the status of the
mentioned bugs.
Thoughts?
