I did not have this problem with LyX-160-4-13-AltInstaller-Small.exe.
Why have you then reinstalled LyX using this installer? Version 4.14 was a bugfix release for Vista users that had problems with the spellchecker. Unfortunately I introduced a new bug there that broke the handling of EPS and PDF images on some systems.
