To get it to work I had to modify babel.sty and english.ldf.diff in /usr/local/teTeX/share/texmf/tex/generic/babel The diffs are attached, but there is probably a better solution to this problem. Allan, what kind of dictionary do Australians use? (no, that is not an ethnic joke :) Garst
