The two patches do not look wrong. I am wondering if you could not
(ab)use the GuiView::execBatchCommand() (or whatever the name) instead
of this post event handling.
In any case I suggest that you decide yourself how to proceed as only
you can properly test this thing (provided that this doesn't impact the
other platforms of course.
