I am busy atm, but the example file attached to bug 5392 is not legal.
LaTeX will not compile it and it should not be possible to get that
in LyX. How was it obtained?
By selecting raw LaTeX and transforming into an equation via Ctrl-M:
\xymatrix{\circ\ar@<1ex>[r] & \circ\ar@<1ex>[l]}
By the way, it seems that copy in Firefox and paste into LyX doesn't work!
