This is not really true: now it is possible to define the menus from a
file (in default.ui) and the bindings are still configurable (although
major work is needed on them before 1.1.6).

What has changed is that now, M-m invokes the math menu (like menu
work is most programs, BTW). This means that the "virtual menu
entries" we had in the math menu (and some others) are not possible
anymore. I think it is a good thing in general (for clarity's sake),
but it causes a problem with the math menu (I do not want users to
give up the bindings they've learnt). Lars thinks we should just
change the bindings, but it seems to me that a better solution would
be to nuke the math menu (this means that at least the "math panel"
option has to move somewhere else). The other entries are already
available from the math panel.
