maybe i just dont understand your intention. should be outliner visibility remembered for new instance of lyx (here is remembered)? if no, then it doesn't work here. new window hides it always. if yes, then after the last patches again outliner is not correctly initialized which will probably lead the critical bug with swapping. personally i would be for not-remembering. the layouts seems to very fragile stuff generally, i need to restructuralize my toolbars every day again and again. pavel
