OK, that was my understanding. How would you describe this check box? "Automatic collapsing"? I am not very keen on adding this check box but if this is the only solution to keep each type of user happy, why not... An alternative that would be a compromise solution would be to call setTreeDeph() only when PageDown/Up or ArrowDown/Up is in autorepeat mode... This would require special handling in GuiWorkarea in probably a signal/slot connection but would be straight forward to implement. I'll let you decide what is best.
