Works here with MiKTeX with pdflatex and ps2pdf without problems. (I recommend
to use pdflatex btw.).

Cannot reproduce, see the attached testfile.
I expect that your LaTeX distribution is not correctly configured, since our German translator whu
uses also texlive can also compile the German docs successfully.
