This is a showstopper since this regression to rc2 makes LyX hardly
unusable.
Aren't you exaggerating a bit? There is a simple work-around: erase the
session data. This can be done either by the user by touching the
geometry session preference or it could be done by the installer by
erasing session data (HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\LyX\LyX-1.6svn). I
reckon this last thing should be done by the installer in any case.
Anyway, I just put some code to detect changes in the ui files. Please test.
