I just checked out from svn, and can no longer reproduce the problem. LyX is snappy with the outliner visible - great! There is another much smaller outliner problem though - LyX keeps collapsing entries in the outliner all the time. I expand a lot of entries for easy navigation, but LyX closes them as soon as I move the cursor some, or switch to another open document tab and back. Is this by design, or something to file a bug about? It is useful to expand the subsections of a chapter or two that I work on. There doesn't seem to be way to "expand all" either, which is useful. Just a wishlist thing, though. Helge Hafting
