Right, we solved quite a few crashes lately.

You'll have to compile LyX yourself. If you are able to do that, you should compile the latest svn and not RC1:

You can also use TortoiseSVN on Windows.

Useful crash data is obtained using either 'CMake and MSVC2008' or 'Cygwin and Mingw'. For the later you'll have to ask Enrico; everything is explained in those files for the first option:

README.Win32
INSTALL.cmake
