The issue was not computer problems for me but rather my upgrading to Mac OS X 10.5, which using my normal build procedure resulted in a binary that could not run on other systems. Konrad eventually figured out new settings that would let me create the binary. But, although the new binary seems to work on most systems (including 10.4 and PPC), for some reason we don't understand it has the screen drawing issues on some (but not all) 10.5-Intel Macs -- the same system as mine, for all we can tell. I won't guess a to what the source of the problem is. For all I know it's a bug in Qt-4.4, but it may well be our build procedure. Bennett
