    Now THIS is strange, as I am an example of someone using LyX along
with Mercurial, and it is way better than LaTeX for me.

    Despite being forced to use scripts to overcome some LyX limitations
(as the inability to write conditional/branched preambles), I still find
writing (and *reading*) in LyX better, especially for convoluted
scientific documents. Diffs are looking good for .lyx files when the
compression is turned off.

    BTW I found LyX all by myself about 2 years ago, no one has helped
me with the "conversion" from Word, or anything like that.

    So don't worry, as the feature list is constantly growing, for one
user leaving there will always be two brand new :)
