Excuse me if the function already exists. In which case the bug is that it is not made obvious.
A pdf browser (like a web browser) provides forward and back buttons. This is very useful when you click on an internal like (such as a reference to a figure or a section in the index) since it enables the reader to click on the link and quickly navigate back the the point were they were reading. LyX provides links too which is very useful. If you right click on a reference it takes you too the object that is referenced.
