I'm removing level-1 headingness from the top of the web pages. This

should, so we'll have to go through the pages eventually to see if they
 are as desired.

In my opinion, the title should not be repeated in the text. For example, http://www.lyx.org/test/WhatIsLyX has a duplicate header.

I'm fine with not repeating the title as plain text. So when I see any H1-headers, I'll just remove the line entirely.

Btw, I've now added the definition of a so called 'page text variable'

        (:description: To be added.. :)

where we should replace 'To be added..' with some text that describes the page. It's then possible to automatically generate a list of pages, including their description.

The page text variable 'page_type', e.g.

        (:page_type:web:)

which here sets it to 'web' is used in the page

        http://www.lyx.org/test/SiteDocumentation

to list pages that comprise the 'web' content as opposed to pages that are used to create e.g. the sidebar. The page SiteDocumentation uses 'page_type' and 'description' in its page lists.
