Actually, could a PlainLayout -> Standard change really harm? In most cases, it will just work (do we have a layout that has Standard but it is not default? And if so, what bad things could happen?), and in the cases that do not have Standard but another default (only gbrief AFAIK), things will not get worse, because LyX will automatically reset to standard (as is done generally now). Do I miss something? Jürgen
