OK (not that I am accepting this idea).

Are you aware of that this is indeed what I am doing? You are
describing my bundle-editing mode, update from external file, and
extract. Just that, in addition to Abdel's 'limit to text editing'
mode, it is working in almost all conditions.

This is my 'unbundle' method, exactly 'in case' when people would like
to unbundle.
