this i don't like personally. i have the impression that lyx is slowly

What most of the others want (as I understand):
- offer a mean to create a bundle out of a document that contains out of
tree reference,
- the bundle is a simple zip file with a clearly defined directory
hierarchy.
this bundel could be edited, and this would allow exchanging the
document with a collaborator.
