Dear developers,
Assume that Ctrl+E and Ctrl+H are not bound as shortcuts for anything. Two
scenarios:
1) In text mode, if you type these combinations, empty squares appear on the
screen. They are saved (I checked it by writing a small program) as 5 and 8
respectively (E is the fifth letter and H is 8th letter: coincidence?) Later,
if you close and reopen the document, they disappear from the screen and from
the document itself (at least if you modify otherwise and save the document).
2) The same in the math mode portions of the document, but they are not cleaned
up if you don't get rid of the spurious empty squares manually (unlike textmode
portions).

This happens in the current SVN.

I don't know why this is so: is this intentional, or just a bug?

Regards.
