I don't think it's private at all... there's no guarantees it'll be
operational at all times since we might be changing stuff, but people
can certainly look at it. And pretty soon I think we should invite
more people to give comments on appearance and structure and contents.

OK. I think it would be great to show it to some non-developers so we
can get quick feedback. Maybe some design-related discussion can be
migrated to the LyX-users list at some point.
As for the website: I think it's starting to look very nice. For the
background of the banner at the top of each page, where we have the
diagonal lines (papers?) I think it would look nice if we tried
something LyX-specific, like a faint image of a mathematical/scientific
document. Kind of like the XEmacs logo:
