It might be a good idea to release soon a lyx-1.1.6-beta1 in order to do
the testing by those who will need to use the code. It would be a bad idea
to release so much new code without having some brave users test it
beforehand, and mostly no-one will test code in the CVS branches, I
suppose the usual line of thought is that this is raw code which is not
stable. The LyX devel branch is rather stable, that is besides my code.
I don't think that my graphics inline-ing will be ready too soon, it still
requires work and REAL testing. The inset itself should be working, only
the inline viewing requires work, but this is where quite a bit of work
will be needed.
Also, I should tell you now that I'll have my army reserve service for
three weeks starting from the beginning of September, thus my coding will
come to a halt or near halt, as the computer I'll have access to will be a
P100 with 16 or 32 megs of memory (not that my current machine is much
better a K6-200 with 48 Megs).
I will try however during that time that I can to write better
documentation of the code and documentation of what I designed and what
are my intentions, in case someone else will step up to pick up my work
and push it forward. Most of my (old) thoughts are in the sources already,
but I need to refresh it all, there were already several revisions since
then.
