I think making screencasts with Wink is a great idea. Wink is capable
of saving the video in a loseless flash format that is pretty small.
Therefore I wouldn't host it on Google Video and/or YouTube as the
video quality on those platforms is pretty bad.
I just forgot one thing: Wink is not only capable of recording the
screen, you can add texts, buttons and so on to the resulting flash
film, thus creating great tutorials. I'll try in April to create a few
example tutorials about LyX, maybe they will be good enough to be put on
the LyX homepage.
Hi,
I've now created two wiki pages related to screencasts:
1. http://wiki.lyx.org/LyX/Screencasts
2. http://wiki.lyx.org/LyX/Screencasts-HowToCreateThem
My thinking is that nr 1 is for linking to screencasts, and nr 2 is for
notes/tips on how to make them.
As for hosting them, if they are reasonable in size I can put them up on
aussie (a.ka. wiki.lyx.org).
Best regards
/Christian
