just look into the patch you sent and compare "-" lines with "+" lines.
indentation is gone. line width is gone. it should be easy to see the
structure (indent & spacing) and to read the paragraphs (intelligent
line break).
Go grab HTML Tidy (http://tidy.sourceforge.net/), originally developed
by the W3C's Dave Raggett. You'll wonder how you ever survived without it.
