How is that related? Are you talking about the windows closing orgy
code? FWIW, most of what I erased is either my own code or Peter's so I
really don't know what you are talking about.
We were talking about fishness...
I still don't follow you. If anything the *old* code for exit was very
fishy, hence the wasted time some of us spent (including you apparently)
fine tuning it. Now, the code is simpler and shorter.
Yesterday, after updating the source tree, I noticed some weird
behavior. On cygwin, after exiting I was getting a warning about
the impossibility of deleting the temp dir, but lyx didn't really
exited and I had to kill it through the process manager.
I noticed the temp dir error message also. It went out as soon as I
deleted my user directory. I don't know the reason of these error.
Under the same circumstances, on solaris i was getting the same
warning but lyx exited normally. Someone else was reporting of
crashes on quit... and you lately touched that area... so you would
have been the suspect in any investigation (suspect is different than
culprit, I think),
Well I have tested pretty carefully my changes to the exit logic so
except for corner cases I think it's pretty sane right now. Of course
the corner cases are discoverable pretty much only with crashes.
WRT the latest crashes, those are mainly caused by Andre' buffer ref in
inset changes. I voluntarily put an exception where there was just an
error message because I don't want the situation to stay like this. I
prefer an instable trunk for a few days that mostly hidden bugs that
will bite us in the future.
thus I was (in my intention) friendly teasing you.
A smiley would have conveyed this very important information :-)
Sorry for having hurt you, instead.
No problem, I was not hurt, I just didn't understand the allusion,
that's all.
Abdel.
