The discussion in the thread
"[Cvslog] r22923 - /lyx-devel/trunk/lib/layouts/stdinsets.inc"
lead us to:

- we should use colored labels in LyX 1.6 for certain insets
- the colors should be customizable
- to distinguish the labels, different inset types should not have the same
label color

I implemented this now this way:

> - we should use colored labels in LyX 1.6 for certain insets

LyX's 1.6 colored inset labels are kept colored. But I changed the text color for index entries to "latex", to indicate that the users have to insert there LaTeX code. (Although this is described in the User's Guide this topic appears from time to time on the lyx-users list.)

> - the colors should be customizable

All label colors and the URL inset text color are now customizable in the
preferences.

> - to distinguish the labels, different inset types should not have the same
label color

- Footnote labels are now lightblue and no longer green like the index label.
- Note labels are now yellow like in LyX 1.2 - 1.4 and no longer blue like the
URL label.
- Branch labels are lightbrown and not red, since red should be used for alerts and really important things as you will always first look at red text.
- Margin note labels are dark purple and not red.

(sorry Martin, no label color is orange, because this looks not very well in
the grey label box)

Attached is a file to see the colors. Of course the colors I set are subjective, so please post what color you like to change.

regards Uwe
