I could live with also the minimal style for listings. But for the other insets I don't agree. Please reflect yourself when you started to work with LyX. The labels were and are very useful to distinguish the different inset types. It is easy for users to use the label as button to open/close insets and when an they always see what it is. Imagine you get a document from a collegue and open it the first time. Without labels it would hard to see is it a footnote with an URL or an URL inset. The same is for index entries and footnotes as they have currently the same text color. Why should the users be forced to learn colors (think of the red-green blind persons btw.)?
(I'm btw. also not a fan that we changed the text color of the insets in trunk. I see no advantage, but the users have to learn and accept new colors when they switch from LyX 1.5 to 1.6, but this is another topic.)
I don't think we should change such basic UI stuff like insets. The way we handle them is well accepted by the users and in my opinion an important part of the success of the UI concept of LyX. So please leave it as it is, according to my arguments above.
