I just tried to update the documentation to the new features of LyX 1.6 but
failed:
LyX is simply not usable and it seems nobody cares. Documents are corrupted all the time by
non-working Flex insets (that I never inserted), see for example

- Nearly all insets, like notes footnotes, etc. are broken for weeks now:

and
- http://bugzilla.lyx.org/show_bug.cgi?id=4400
- Due to this we also have lyx2lyx problems, see
http://bugzilla.lyx.org/show_bug.cgi?id=4404
- Also some example files are not working, see
http://bugzilla.lyx.org/show_bug.cgi?id=4380
- LaTeXConfig.lyx cannot be updated, see
http://bugzilla.lyx.org/show_bug.cgi?id=4460
- The date inset cannot be used, see
http://bugzilla.lyx.org/show_bug.cgi?id=4398
- Search&Replace is completely broken, see

So there's much todo. To be able to use LyX 1.6svn, the guys who worked on the inset stuff need to
make the code ready to use.
Remember that we wanted to publish a first snapshot this time, according to Josés release plan. But
in the state it currently is, we shouldn't do this.
