With the old behavior people press the button and insert \intop because they think that this is the
default. But the default and usual limit placement for integrals is the one of \int.

I see, a solution would be to use another big operator as first one in the popup toolbar, like e.g.
\bigsqcup.
While thinking about it, tell me what you think about this solution. If you don't like it I'll
revert my commit.
@ Jürgen: Sorry for applying this to branch too, this wasn't planned. I'm currently working on a
math manual that won't be ready for LyX 1.5.4 I think, so all changes and suggestion I make are not
necessary for branch. I'll revert the branch commit in every case later today.
