Hi,
we've had some arguments about the fact that we turned assertions on
in the LyX Debian package. ATM we're rethinking our position and I
would like to get some input from you on the topic.
The main argument for turning assertions on is that in cases of an
assertion getting cought the chance for a data loose is minimised.
Most assertions in LyX-1.5.x are related to screen painting and are thus
harmless. I strongly recommend to disable them in the binary packages
for *all* platforms.
