That depends. If you prevent the automatic translation of LyX ->\LyX etc. in url charstles you don't need lyx2lyx _for this particular case_, but if the current implementation stays then you need lyx2lyx. But, lyx2lyx is also needed for other reasons: Formerly, the contents of url insets was output verbatim. Now, it goes through the full translation mechanism, so you need to undo this in lyx2lyx (e.g. unescaping \% -> % etc). See my answer to Uwe from last week. Georg
