Are you sure about this? I have ClearType enabled (the standard Windows
anti-aliasing which does sub-pixel rendering) but the fonts in LyX do
not look correctly. I'm quite certain that I did not have this issue

Probably because my windows settings doesn't use CleartType... dunno.
OK, it seems that this optimization really need to be configurable...
