Do you really think this is playing? I am fad up that you never try to
understand that what we are doing is *good* for LyX. Code is meant to
change, cleanup is always good whatever you think.

I play the best I can: I do not have enough time for LyX (especially
until christmas), if I only spend it arguing we are not going to go
very far.

I personally always try to listen to constructive criticism.

Therefore I let you do as you wish and we'll see afterwards
what the situation is. You have carte blanche.

Good.

And I am fed up that people think I do not try to understand what they
mean just because I disagree with them.

Problem is that when you take an ironical tone, one cannot guess what you really mean.

On the paragraph docking issue
I did spend a lot of time trying to think about what could be done
about the usability problem. The toolbar redraw problem (besides the
stupid visibility bug) was mainly a problem with the new cut-and-paste
stuff that was pushed in just before 1.5.

That was at least 6 months before 1.5.0 I think... And by the way, there are other cases like that non involving external issues: try the empth or noun toggle button to see what I mean.

I did spend a lot of time on
that (and on listing too: the counters rewrite was a necessity to
remove true horrors; and no, "but it was OK, I just wanted it to work"
is not an excuse).

Well I could also enumerate a lot of things I've spent time on without gaining any personal benefits. But thanks anyways for those.

Spending time caring about other people's fun projects is not very
interesting actually. So that you know I am not directed
against you in particular, I think it is time for andre to actually
make the build system work in a simple way... Libraries should not
installed, the --enable-monolithic-foo switches are horrible, we have
4 build systems instead of 3. I am not going to work on the auto*
build system at all if it means doing the cleanup.

Clearer now?

Yes, thanks.

Abdel.
