If I understood you correctly this is already done by the new
"Immediate Apply" check box (which is checked by default to the
desperation of Edwin :-).
I was meaning something that allows for application of the changes to the
style (i.e. layout) itself, so that it is applied on all the document,
rather than
on the paragraph I'm in only. For example, if I wanted that *all*
section titles
be centered or left-justified, I could change it that way. I'm just
considering
a user-perspective, not a LaTeX/implementation one.
