FYI: In the US, "native American" usually is written "Native American",
and it means: indigenous person, i.e., person who descends from those
who were here before the Europeans showed up in droves. I'm not sure
"native American", so spelled, is much used, as there would be
confusion. I'm not sure either what would be used here with that meaning.
So there are a few of us native Americans, but are any of us Native
Americans?
