I think it was the 't' of postscript (as you know, Ctrl+P, Ctrl+O and Ctrl+S were already taken). In this case, Ctrl+T should not be bound to pdf, but we need a pref to set the preferred preview format and buffer-preview (without argument could default to that). JMarc
