OK, I learned from this that adding an ui change on Sunday is not a good idea, 
even though the change looked straightforward to me.

Having said that, there's still plenty of time to discuss this. If the 
majority thinks that the old behaviour is better until we have some more 
fancy means (as outlined by JMarc), we will revert.
