One question: Why don't we make this the default? I mean that the
present binding will always work with the master document. This means
that new binding should be created for child documents. I personally
would prefer this behaviour a lot because, thanks to the integerated
outline I don't have to wonder anymore if I am in a child document or
not.
Very good point actually. A child-buffer-view lfun would make more
sense.
No. The whole idea of separating chapters from a book is that I can
compile and view the chapters *quicker*. I do not want to compile the
whole book when I am working on a chapter.
This is your (expert) use of it. More often than not a child document
won't have the same settings and preamble as his master buffer. So the
views _will_ differ.
I prefer something sure and predictable so compiling and view the master
document should be the default.
I still do not see what is so difficult to go to the master buffer and view.
And I don't see what is so difficult to change shortcut when you want a
preview of a child document.
