No, you need a file format change, if only for backwards compatibility.
Would you need one if you DIDN'T change the \begin -- \end commands? I'm
not sure why you would actually have to do that. The only real change
here is in the LaTeX output: \usepackage{wrapfig} instead of
\usepackage{floatflt}. If 1.5.x doesn't support any of wrapfig's options
that are not supported by floatflt, then it's backwards compatible. And
new options could be supported for 1.6.x, and at that point the \begin
-- \end change could be made, if only to ward off confusion.
